Chief Guest National Conference on Green Buildings for Sustainable Development - 2015

A National Conference on Green Buildings for Sustainable Development was organized by Madhav Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) at Gwalior jointly with Climate Change Research Institute (CCRI) on 19 & 20th March 2015. The conference was Convened by Prof Rajeev Kansal, Department of Civil Engineering, Prof L. K. Jain, Department of Architecture and Dr. A. K. Saxena, Department of Civil Engineering, MITS, Gwalior. The workshop was attended by large number Architecture and Civil Engineering Students. Several institutions from Varanasi, Pune, Gurgaon, Vidisha, Jaipur, Sonepat, Shimla, Roorkee and Bhopal participated in the conference.

Dr (Mrs) Malti Goel, Former Adviser, DST and CEO, CCRI inaugurated the Conference as the Chief Guest. Thanking Prof Sanjeev Jain, Director MITS and Shri Ramesh Kumar, President for this privilege.  Dr. Malti Goel said that green building implementation on large scale need introduction of bye laws and simplification of procedures by the local bodies.  She also delivered the keynote address on ‘Green Buildings in India: Perspectives for Social Transformations’. The keynote address on second day was delivered by Prof. D.M. Tripathi, IIT, BHU, Varanasi.  Thought provoking lectures and case studies for green buildings at grass root level for India were presented.
