Third Lecture held on ‘ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION’ by Prof. Meenakshi Dhote, Dean and Head, Department of Environment Planning, School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi

The Climate Change Research Institute in association with the India International Centre organized Third lecture on ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ by Prof. Meenakshi Dhote, Dean and Head, Department of Environment Planning, School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi on June 26th, 2024 at India International Center Annex, Lecture Hall-1, New Delhi, attended by the Teachers from various schools and colleges in large number.

The World Environment Day Science Campaign, 2024 began with lamp lighting. Dr. (Mrs) Malti Goel, President and Chief Executive, Climate Change Research Institute introduced the theme of the "Climate Change and Net Zero" lecture series. Mrs. Maya Gupta, Founder, UES and Director-Principal, Universal Public School delivered the special address. Prof. V.S. Verma, Former Chairman, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission presented the Inaugural Address. The event featured Prof. Meenakshi Dhote, Dean and Head, Department of Environment Planning, School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi, who delivered an Interactive Lecture on "Ecosystem Restoration Through Safeguarding Traditional Water Resources”. She presented case studies of wetlands in India and described carbon Wetland Management Guidelines. Bulletin of Climate SARClimate Change and Water’ Vol. IX, No.1, January 2024 was released on the occasion.

Participants included teachers from Ambience Public School, Delhi Police Public School, St Thomas Girls Sr. Sec School, Mandir Marg, Universal Public School and Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, invitees and other members of society. The lecture captivated attendees with insights into the realm of wetland conservation.

Certificates were given to all participating school/ college teachers followed by the refreshments.
